Sabudana kheer, as we know kheer is a very old sweet dish in our Indian sanskriti where we make it with only rice, milk and sugar.
Today we are going to make our old school kheer with sabudana (tapioca pearl or sago) which is high in carbohydrates benifit for fast energy.
For sabudana kheer
Ingredients
1) sabudana
2) sugar
3) milk
4) cashew nuts
5) almond
6) cardamom pods
7) long
8) fruits ( apple, grapes)
9) jaggery (10-15g)
Method 1
1) Soak some sabudana (400g) for 2hrs then drain it, after draining keep it aside for 1hrs.
2) Let's start making our kheer, first take a sauce pan and add around 1.5 liters of milk, let it boil for around 10- 15 min
3) After boiling add sugar ( 400g) let the sugar melt meanwhile we have to thicken our kheer so we need to grind our cashew nuts, cardamom pods, long, almond in a mixer
4) Our mixture will be fine powder form, as we are done making our mixture into powder, add the mixture into the milk and stir it for a minute, it should start thinking.
5) add the jaggery pieces, the jeggery will give a pleasent taste, and it won't take much time to dissolve
6) While our kheer becomes thick add soaked sabudana into the kheer and stir it. Our work is almost done
We can enjoy it like this, or we can do some add-ons.
method 2
1) cut some fruits I am using apple and grapes
2) finely chop the apple and slice the grapes.
3) take some almond and cashew nuts finely slice and then ( use for decoration)
4) pour the kheer into a boul and add some cut fruits and sprinkle with the almonds and cashew nuts.
Enjoy it while it's hot, or you can freeze it for 2 hours in the refrigerator for a cold dessert.
